Inamo라는 런던 소호에 위치한 획기적인 레스토랑이다 !

일본과 태국, 중국 등 퓨전 오리엔탈 요리를 서브하는 레스토랑이고 하는데 왜 지금에야 알았을까 싶을 정도로 재미있는 레스토랑이다.

며칠전에 다른 사람 블로그에서 그 사람이 여기에 다녀온 후 쓴 글을 봤는데 정말이지 꼭 한 번 가보고 싶다.

Inamo는 전세계 최초의 interactive 레스토랑이라는 말로 소개된다.

테이블 마다 천장에 프로젝터가 설치되 있어서 테이블을 화면삼아 영상을 쏴준다.

그럼 손님은 테이블 가장자리에 있는 터치패드를 이용해서 익숙하게 컴퓨터 다루듯 여러가지 음식과 음료의 정보를 읽고 생상한 사진도 보면서 주문을 하고 그럼 웨이터가 주문한 음식을 직접 들고 온다.

레스토랑에 다녀온 사람의 말에 따르면 화면에서 보던 것을 웨이터가 실제로 들고오는 것 자체도 뭔가 환상이 실제가 된 듯한 느낌처럼 즐거웠다고 한다.

또한 주방과의 대화라는 탭이 있어서 주방에 직접 메세지를 보낼 수도 있다고 한다.  그러면 주방의 쉐프(?)들은 또한 쪽지 날리듯 답을 하기도 한다고.(주방내부를 화면을 통해 볼 수도 있다)

내가 예전에 생각해 봤던 테이블마다 작은 터치스크린을 달아서 주방에 직접 메뉴를 주문하고 맛 (맵고, 짠…)이나 재료 (싫어하는 식재료나, 알러지 반응이 있는 것등)등의 주문사항을 전달할 수 있게 하는 것도 가능 할 것 같다.

정말 재미있는 레스토랑이다. 누구라도 한번쯤 가보고 싶어할 만하다.

실제로 생긴지 2년도 되지 않았지만 이미 전 세계적인 명성을 얻고 있다고 한다.

게다가 충실하게도 ‘맛’또한 흠 잡을 데 없다고.

한국에서 이런 레스토랑을 열면 어떨까?

좀 더 발전될 수 있는 건 어떤 방법이 있을지 생각해 봐야 겠다.

가까운 시일내에 유럽에 놀러 갈 사람들에게 좋은 정보가 NYT에 소개됐다~.

위의 사진은 베니스의 호텔 방의 사진인데 저런 멋진방이 단돈 70유로!!(10,11월)

게다가 무려 더블룸에 주말 가격 기준이다… (호텔 공식 사이트 or 예약 전문 사이트에 명시된 가격임)

개인적으로 여행할 때 가장 우선순위를 예산을 배분하는게 숙소인데, 가난한 대학생의 현실에선 많은 친구들이 한국식 민박이나 번잡한 유스호스텔을 이용하는 경우를 많이 본다. 물론 그 나름의 정취와 추억이 있겠지만, 여행을 고생만 하다 오는 건 좀 억울하지 않은가….

 

이왕 가는 여행, 안락하고 분위기 있는 숙소에서 여유도 좀 부리고 그 나름의 문화도 만끽하고 오는 건 어떨까.  거기에 조금은 풍족한 식사 한끼 정도는 할 수 있는 사치를 부려보는 것도 좋을 것이다. 

 

아래의  리스트는 3년동안 여행자들이 직접 체험하고 남긴  추천을 기준으로 나름대로엄선하여 작성된 것이라고 한다.  유럽 14개 도시의 호텔 정보가 나와있다. 대표할 수 있는 코멘트도 달려 있으니 읽어보면 좋다.

얼마전에 위와 같은 기사를 보았다. 삭막하고 천편일률적인 학교 곳곳에 아이들이 직접 만지고 느낄 수 있는 여러가지 조각과 미술 작품등을 이용해 건물을 지어 심미적으로 아름다울 뿐만 아니라 실제 기능적으로도  교육에 활용하는 내용이었는데, 이미 뉴욕시티를 포함하여 여러 주의 공립학교들이 이러한 아트를 이용한 학교건물의 리노베이션이나 설계에 동참하고 있는 듯 하다.

또 단순히 예술작품의 활용뿐만 아니라 과거 안전이나 비용등의 여러 이유로 빠르게 ‘찍어내던’ 학교 건물들을 탈피해서 좀 더 건강하고 친 환경적인 학교가 될 수 있게 하는 노력도 하고 있다.

물론 비용문제가 만만치 않지만, 예전보다도 훨씬 효율적인 저비용의 기술로도 여러가지 활용이 가능한 듯 하고, 비싼 예술작품을 사다가 거는 것도 아니고, 또 공공적으로나 학부모들 역시 무려 donation으로 참여를 하고 있기도 한다고..

학교 자체가 커다란 예술작품이자 갤러리가 될 수도 있으면서, 또한 실용적으로 보고 만지는 교육도 가능하고, 늘상 박물관이나 미술관 등으로 가는 견학등도 자체적으로 해결가능하겠고..선생님들은 책만들고 교실 수업에서 좀 벗어나서 조금 더 창의적인 교육도 할 수 있을 것 같고..아이들에겐 안그래도 공부하러 오기 싫은 학교가 좀 더 즐거운 공간이 되어주지 않을까…. 자연 스럽게 아이들이 어릴 때부터 예술적 감성을 배양 시켜 줄수도 있고 말이다..

사실 우리는 멋진 교육시스템(!) 덕분에 그런 예술적 감수성이 많이 부족하긴 하다..(…)

멋지게 잘 발전시키면 학교투어! 같은 여행명소가 될지도 모른다는 생각도 든다.

(갑자기 미대로 유명한 우리학교의 삭막하다 못해 살벌한..(..) 건물들이 생각나는 건 뭘까……. )

아마존의 킨들

 

 

날이 갈수록 e-book 시장이 커지고 있는 것 같다.

예전에 아마존 킨들이 처음 나왔을 때는 ‘오~ 저거 좋은데’에서 그쳤던 생각이 이제는 ‘사고 싶기도…?’ 정도로 바뀐 걸 느낀다.

처음엔 과연 e-book이라는 게 무게나 여타 다른 조건을 제외하고서라도 ‘종이책’이라는 것을 대체할 수 있을 지 의심스러웠지만, 이제는 정말 빠르게 그 시대가 다가오고 있는 것 같다.

그 유명한 아마존의 킨들부터 시작해서 2010년에는 더 많은 전자책리더가 출시 될 예정이라 하고 우리나라에서도 아이리버의 스토리등 조금씩 전자책시장의 가능성에 대해 생각하고 있는 모습이다.

그런데, 이런 전자책리더가 아무리 좋은 것이 쏟아져 나와도 결국엔 이것들은 ‘리더’라는 것이다. 결국 컨텐츠가 무엇이냐, 혹은 어디서 더 양질의 컨텐츠를 더 쉽고 싸게 공급받을 수 있느냐 일텐데.. 그 부분에 있어서 아마존의 킨들은 기존의 전자서점의 지위를 이용해 잘 싸우고 있고, (새로 출시된 irex이전에는 기기에서 직접 다운로드 받을 수 있는 기능도 킨들만 가지고 있었다) 소니의 경우 구글의 book search와 손을 잡고 구글이 보유한  디지털자료를 리더에서 볼 수 있도록 했다. Irex의 경우는 베스트바이, 반즈앤노블스와 손을 잡았다.

‘세상의 모든 책을 google안으로..’ 라는 모토의 google book search, 이 방대한 디지털 컨텐츠가 google에 또 어떤 날개를 달아줄 수 있을까?

 

전문가들은 앞으로 100년이 지나도 종이책이 사라지지는 않을 거라고 했고, 지금 역시 초기의 기대와 달리 e-b00k시장이 활성화 되지 못한게 사실이다. 하지만 기술은 점점 발전하고 사람들은 변화를 빨리 받아들인다.

당장 대학생인 우리역시 모든 교과서를 싸짊어 지지 않고 다닐 수 있다면 대환영일텐데..

점점 커져가는 e-book시장에 리더기의 기능문제나 (가독성등..)컨텐츠 확보의문제(저작권포함..) 등 아직 풀어야할 기술과 제도적인 문제가 많겠지만 어쨌든 몇년안에 우리나라에서도 전자책리더를 들고 다니는 사람을 흔히 볼 수 있을 것 같다.

이전에도 여기가 아닌 다른 곳에서 블로그를 가져보려는 시도를 했었는데 매번 실패로 끝났었다.

 블로그라는 건, 쉽게 생각하기 보다는 많은 관심과 노력을 필요로 하는 것 같다.

특히 나처럼 무언가 글을 쓰는 것에 있어서, 늘 계획보다 2,3배 이상의 시간이 걸리고 마는 유형은 더더욱 초반에 지쳐버리는 경우가 많다.

일단 , 좋은 계기로 또~ 시작하게 되었으니, 무거운 마음은 버리고 가볍게 다시 도전해 볼 생각이다.

이런 web 2.0 시대라고 떠들어 대는 상황에 늘 타인이 생산해내는 컨텐츠만을 소비해온 자신으로서는 정말이지 커다란 변화!가 필요한 시점이긴 하다.

혁신일까…

우선은 심각하게 하지 않을 생각이다. 또 초반에 지쳐버리지 않게..

재미를 붙였으면 좋겠다. 잘 해보자.
